EXPERIENCE

I have been a psychotherapist for 25 years, and received my Masters in Social Work from New York University. I have also trained at The Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center in New York.

Separate from, but informed by my work as a therapist, I also provide divorce mediation services. I received training through The Ackerman Family Institute in conjunction with Brooklyn Law School professors.

In 2000, I was certified as a Kripalu yoga instructor, and am keenly aware of the interplay between mind and body.

MY SPECIALTY

People often want to know what my specialty is. My years of work with many different people has revealed that everyone struggles with relationships and intimacy.

The most fulfilling and unfulfilling experiences can come from one’s relationships. As such, much of my work revolves around intimacy, or lack thereof, and the accompanying feelings of loss and shame which manifest in depression and anxiety. Injured sense of self, couples counseling (including divorce mediation), parenting challenges, postpartum depression, physical illness and its psychological effects,  addiction issues, sexual identity and sexual dysfunction issues are some of my specialties.

If you feel overwhelmed or confused by the changes you want to make, together we will find clarity and a way for you to feel you are living a more fulfilling and authentic life. I provide a compassionate, honest, and encouraging environment in which you are deeply heard and understood, leading to transformation in your relationship to yourself and to others.
